Hello 👋 I’m Ulrike Langer.

I am a freelance journalist, media analyst, trendscout and U.S. correspondent for the German B2B news publishing magazine Kress Report. I also organize media innovation tours for European media executives, give webinars and keynotes.

I am originally from Cologne, Germany, and have have been living and working in the U.S. since 2011.

My niche in journalism is spotting trends in the media industry that are emerging here in the US and that I believe are or will be relevant soon in Germany or the DACH countries.

Given the rapid pace of innovation, my mission and expertise is to distinguish between short-term hypes or trends that are only relevant in the USA and developments with potential for new business models in European media markets.

At the moment, I'm mainly analyzing how news organizations in the U.S. (and in the English-speaking world) are innovating with AI.
